Preparing For Fall! – September 2024 Update
Happy September! Our teams have been hard at work this month as we are coming to an end to peach season and are slowly making our way into
apple season! At our markets, you can find McIntosh, Gala, and Honeycrisp apples, and we will continue to introduce more as the weeks go by! Don’t forget to check out some of our famous apple products while you’re here – like our classic Apple Butter (available in 1/2 pints, pints, and quarts) or our limited edition Golden Delicious Apple Butter.
Other produce available at the market right now includes watermelon, cantaloupe, corn, squash & zucchini, cucumbers, nectarines, plums, tomato varieties, potato varieties, pepper varieties, and more. Have any questions about produce availability? Contact your local market!
Days to Note
Labor Day – Monday, September 2nd
Labor Day is the first Monday of the month – September 2nd. We are celebrating the long weekend with a Labor Day Peach Sale! Running Friday, August 30th through Sunday, September 1st, 1/2 bushels of freestone peaches are $30.00 and bushels are $45.00. Celebrate peach season while you can! Plenty of pies and baked goods are available as well.
First Day of Fall – Sunday, September 22nd
The first day of the official fall season begins on Sunday, September 22nd, and we are ready for sweater and pumpkin weather! We will be highlighting lots of great fall décor, clothing, and more available at the market as we dive into fall, and before we know it, we will be ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Beer Tastings
Are you ready to join us for a Friday night Beer Tasting at our Senseny Road market?! The final beer tastings of the summer season will be held on Friday, September 6th and Friday, September 20th. Curious as to some of the features we had in August? Check out these options:
Crystal Coast Brewing Co. – “Peanut Butter Cup” Imperial Porter – 8.5% ABV
Troegs Independent Brewing – “Graffiti Highway” IPA – 6% ABV

Our bi-weekly Beer Tasting menus are always posted on social media and listed in our weekly retail email sent out on Thursdays so you can be in the know before the day arrives. Here’s to welcoming in the fall season and all the delicious fall flavored beverages we will have to sample over the “ber” months!
Other September Events
Our first Pick Your Own Pumpkin event at Whitacre Family Farms is this month! Join us on Saturday, September 28th for a day full of fun fall activities! Earlier this month, we announced more exciting details of what you and your family will be able to participate in.
Entrance to the Pick Your Own Pumpkin events will be $10 per car. Each car will receive one large pumpkin to take home and access to the following activities: inflatables, yard games, a photo wall, and of course, access to the pick your own pumpkin patch. What event are we most excited for? Well, let’s just show you…
Our featured additional activity will be our pumpkin slingshots, built by our hard-working team here at Shawnee! Your ammo (mini pumpkins) will be available for purchase for your chance to show us how far you can shoot a pumpkin. This activity is fun for all ages!
