100 Years in the Making
What’s that sign on our fence—“Virginia Century Farm,” you ask? 
Whitacre Family Farms, established in 1903, spans 160 acres of rich, productive land—the very land that grows the fresh fruits and vegetables you love at Shawnee Springs Markets! 
Over a hundred years of dedication, hard work, and love for the land later, our farm proudly became a Virginia Century Farm 
—a milestone that honors farms in the same family for 100+ years, continuously farmed or lived on by descendants, and producing food for their community.
