Time to Get to Work
Today, we’ve got Peewee ripping the fields! Using powerful deep-working tines on the back of a bulldozer, we’re breaking through that tough shale, clay, and compacted soil.
Jose using a disc harrow and drag are essential tools for preparing the soil before planting trees. The disc harrow effectively breaks up compacted soil, cuts through roots, and smooths out uneven terrain, making it easier for tree roots to establish. Following up with a drag helps further level the soil, removing clumps and creating a uniform planting surface. This process improves soil aeration and drainage, ensuring optimal growing conditions for newly planted trees.
Six kinds of 2-year-old cherry trees are going in for planting. This year, the farm is adding 2.5 acres of cherry trees.
