60 Years ~ A Family Tradition
Shawnee Springs Market is celebrating 60 years! Sundays on social media, we’ll share a special piece of our history—from the people who built our legacy to the building itself and the original signs that welcomed generations of customers.
Take a step back in time with us and discover the stories, memories, and milestones that have made Shawnee Springs Market what it is today.
Back in 1958, William Lee Whitacre opened his very first roadside produce stand at the end of Route 127 in Cross Junction. Customers would pull over for apples, peaches, pears, plums, sweet corn, and a wide variety of fresh vegetables — all harvested with hard work and pride from the farm.
