Here Comes April! – April 2024 Update

We have officially made it to Spring! Here at Shawnee Springs, we have been making great strides in preparing for the upcoming warmer seasons. I always get excited when I see the doors lifted and the spring flags put on display at the Cross Junction Farm Market. Pretty soon we will be putting on our flip-flops and enjoying some backyard grilling!

April also means Apple Blossom Festival here in Winchester, VA! 2024 Marks the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, VA. However, due to WWII, the festival was not held from 1942 to 1945 (so it is technically the 97th Apple Blossom Festival). The Apple Blossom Festival brings over 250,000 people to the Winchester area! We are incredibly proud to be a part of the community and wanted to show some appreciation! Shawnee Springs will be sponsoring a few events during the duration of the 97th Apple Blossom Festival – read below for more details!

Cider Tasting and Orchard Tours

We are sponsoring a fantastic event that is taking place on Saturday, April 20th at the beautiful campus of Our Health in Old Town Winchester! There will be hard cider tastings from some of the most renowned cider makers in the region. Afterwards, the group will then be shuttled to the Glaize Apple facilities where they will be taken on a guided tour of the orchards. The tour will be rich in knowledge and history about apple growing in the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountain regions. Delicious food options from multiple vendors will be available on site. Breakfast with Miss Apple Blossom

Another event that we are sponsoring is the annual Breakfast with Miss Apple Blossom event which will be taking place on Saturday, April 27th from 9:00am to 10:30am! This fairly-new tradition began in 2022 and consists of a delicious and unforgettable breakfast experience! Children of all ages will be able to enjoy delicious apple-inspired breakfast treats and meet and take photos with Miss Apple Blossom! 100th Birthday Celebration

We will be donating some delicious apple pies to be enjoyed at the 100th Birthday Celebration taking place at Shenandoah University! This event will take place on Tuesday April 30th, from 5pm-8pm. This celebration will include a live DJ, photobooth, face painting, inflatables for the little ones, and delicious food offerings! All ages are welcome. Beer Tastings

We will be continuing to have our biweekly Beer Tastings at the Senseny Location! We will be sampling several different brews. Currently, beer tastings will take place on:
